Privacy Policy
Last updated October 6, 2026
CarouselAI (“we”) makes Instagram carousels from your photos and ideas. This policy explains what we collect, why, who helps us run the service, and the choices you have. Questions: hello@carouselnote.com.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address and, if you sign in with Google, the name and profile information Google shares with us. Passwords are stored by our authentication provider, never in plain text.
- Content you add: photos you upload (listing photos and your own photo), the listing details, brand kit and story text you enter, and the carousels we generate for you. When you add your own photo to a story post, the background is removed on your device before the image is uploaded.
- Feedback: answers and comments you send us, such as “Would you post this?”.
- Usage information: pages you visit, buttons you click, carousels you generate and download, device and browser type, approximate location from your IP address, and errors you encounter. We also record anonymised replays of sessions to understand where the app is confusing; anything typed into form fields is hidden from these recordings.
How we use it
- To run the service: sign you in, store your content, and generate your carousels.
- To draft story text with AI when you ask us to (the topic you type is sent to the AI provider).
- To send account emails, such as sign-up confirmation and password reset.
- To understand how the app is used, fix problems, and decide what to build next.
- To prevent abuse, such as excessive use or attempts to access other people’s data.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your photos to train AI models.
Who helps us run the service
We share data only with providers that process it on our behalf:
- Supabase — accounts and database.
- Cloudflare — storage for photos and generated slides; domain and email routing.
- Vercel — hosting the website and running the app.
- Google — “Sign in with Google”, and the Gemini API for AI-drafted story text.
- PostHog (EU region) — product analytics and session replays.
- Resend — delivering account emails.
These providers may process data in countries other than your own.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and saved carousels until you delete them or ask us to delete your account. Uploaded originals and generated files may be removed automatically after a period of time. Analytics data is kept for as long as it is useful for improving the product, and in any case is deleted along with your account on request.
Your choices and rights
- You can delete any carousel from “My carousels” at any time.
- You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, or to delete your account, by emailing hello@carouselnote.com. We will respond within 30 days.
- You can block analytics with a browser extension; the app keeps working.
Children
The service is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, files are stored in private storage, and each account can only access its own content. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above, and for significant changes we will let you know in the app or by email.
